Thank you Oprah!
Inspired to live My Best Life!
Often you will find me with a little notebook that will have notes, ideas, thoughts, dreams, etc. In the Spring of 2007 I felt a complete disconnect with my business at the time and can honestly say I was discontent. I was 60lbs overweight and exhausted. Little did I know that a very part-time position I had accepted to distract me would guide me to my life’s purpose. The following is an excerpt from my notebook:
Objective: To reveal the already beautiful you.
Mission: Inspire you to love who you are right now!
While moving your body to a healthier, stronger, fitter you.
My Philosophy is if you truly love who you are and appreciate your
magnificent self, your body image will no longer be an area of
obsession. You will be focusing on achieving your goals and with
that will bring higher self esteem and courage to be “the best you”
without the need of food for comfort, companionship, joy, and pleasure.
I knew in my heart and soul that this was my purpose. To not only internalize and breath this into my own life but to help others believe, love, and honor themselves. It took me nearly a year to fully embrace it and now I live it. It has been and continues to be quite a journey and to hear the same philosophy shared with millions is tremendous validation. What an exciting time!
Remember to put yourself on the schedule. Get plenty of sleep. Get your body to a healthy weight. Get your body moving and remember to laugh daily!

New Year’s Resolutions
What is a New Year’s Resolution?
New Year: New beginning or Fresh start
Resolution: I think it’s best to break it down to the base of the word: Resolve
I heard it best defined as follows:
“Resolve: To make a promise to yourself that you will never give up!”
I am always surprised by the number of people who are willing to accept poor health rather than take charge of their health with nutrition, exercise and a little thing I call hope. Basically, they are giving up!
Unwilling to consider the possibilities of putting their life into 5th gear, full throttle, and living out their dreams.
Thank goodness Sarah (pictured above) took a chance and didn’t give up. She didn’t believe she could lose weight. She had been doing another program for years and managed to lose 10lbs several times. Unfortunately, never accumulative, if you know what I mean. Her words to me were “Whatever, the worst that could happen is it won’t work and I won’t be any worse off for trying.” All I have to say is “Bravo – IT WORKS”. Sarah is more than half way to her goal with 60lbs of fat gone and she looks fantastic!
I’m not just talking about losing weight. I’m talking about feeling great! Building confidence! Having the energy to do a little more day after day! Engaging in your life! Not just for a New Years Resolution, but choose to for life! What would that look like to you?
Whether you need to lose weight or not, a nourished body out performs on all levels; mind, body, and spirit, than a body that is poorly nourished.
Consider your New Year’s Resolve….
Are you willing to keep trying?
If so, I can help. Call me for a personal one-on-one consultation (503) 502-5851. No obligation. We’ll just talk about your health and wellness goals for the amazing year to come.
To your health & happiness,

Contemplating the “weighting” game
While waiting for my car to be serviced and hoping I don’t receive devastating news from the ever so friendly Service Manager. I was remembering how I had been waiting for a miracle cure for my obesity for several years. Waiting for the magic pill to help me lose the weight I was so clever at denying and making excuses for as many of us do. And I was waiting for my car to be serviced I wondered how many others are waiting for that same “easy to do”, “don’t have to work at it” weight loss cure?
I had thought something will inspire me to lose weight. I will wake up one day and be resolved at losing my extra weight. At one point I even thought I’ll get sick and that will help me get to a healthy weight and then I will be able to maintain it. Thank goodness that prayer wasn’t answered. As twisted and grossly misguided as those thoughts are – it’s the truth. Okay, now, don’t think that my thoughts are so off the mark. I think there are many people out there that have had these thoughts and possibly more extreme.
Okay, I never found the miracle cure for weight loss. I found something better. Better because I chose to take action. I chose to take control. I chose Take Shape For Life. I chose well. I am healthier now as a result of that decision. Full circle healthier, mind, body and spirit. Take Shape For Life has a term for it called the Trilogy of health. TSFL factors in finances into the Trilogy. That is just an added bonus that I get to earn a living while helping others achieve optimal health and help them feel as amazing as I do!
I know how exhausting, frustrating and depressing it can be to keep waiting for that inspiration. I can help. I’ve been there and I know how to make the changes necessary to live life strong and in control. How to make the shift from I wish to I will. Through personal one on one coaching and a program building better health through better nutrition, I can help you reach your weight loss goals.
