Contemplating the “weighting” game

August 12, 2008 Life Coach for Women

While waiting for my car to be serviced and hoping I don’t receive devastating news from the ever so friendly Service Manager. I was remembering how I had been waiting for a miracle cure for my obesity for several years. Waiting for the magic pill to help me lose the weight I was so clever at denying and making excuses for as many of us do. And I was waiting for my car to be serviced I wondered how many others are waiting for that same “easy to do”, “don’t have to work at it” weight loss cure?

I had thought something will inspire me to lose weight. I will wake up one day and be resolved at losing my extra weight. At one point I even thought I’ll get sick and that will help me get to a healthy weight and then I will be able to maintain it. Thank goodness that prayer wasn’t answered. As twisted and grossly misguided as those thoughts are – it’s the truth. Okay, now, don’t think that my thoughts are so off the mark. I think there are many people out there that have had these thoughts and possibly more extreme.

Okay, I never found the miracle cure for weight loss. I found something better. Better because I chose to take action. I chose to take control. I chose Take Shape For Life. I chose well. I am healthier now as a result of that decision. Full circle healthier, mind, body and spirit. Take Shape For Life has a term for it called the Trilogy of health. TSFL factors in finances into the Trilogy. That is just an added bonus that I get to earn a living while helping others achieve optimal health and help them feel as amazing as I do!

I know how exhausting, frustrating and depressing it can be to keep waiting for that inspiration. I can help. I’ve been there and I know how to make the changes necessary to live life strong and in control. How to make the shift from I wish to I will. Through personal one on one coaching and a program building better health through better nutrition, I can help you reach your weight loss goals.

    Hi Teresa,

Your point is right on target. I had two very dear friends in college who liked to get sick so that they could lose weight. These girls, I thought, were already thin and beautiful, but society seemed to have its’ grip on them and they always thought they were fat.

Keep up the GREAT work you are doing.
